The Talha ibn Ubaidillah Center is a masjid and Islamic educational center serving the Muslims of Cambridge, Maryland, and welcoming Muslims from surrounding communities, including Trappe, Hurlock, Federalsburg, and throughout the Mid-Shore.

Our purpose is to provide a place where Muslims can gather for the worship of Allah, fulfill their religious obligations, acquire beneficial Islamic knowledge, strengthen their faith, and develop bonds of brotherhood and community.

Jumuʿah Prayer

Jumuʿah prayer and khuṭbah are held every Friday.

As part of our commitment to bringing beneficial Islamic instruction to the community, the Center hosts a guest khaṭīb on the third Friday of every month.

We welcome Muslims from Cambridge and the surrounding areas to join us for Jumuʿah.

Islamic Education

Islamic education is an essential part of the Center’s mission. We are working to establish weekly Islamic classes designed to provide Muslims with beneficial knowledge that strengthens their understanding and practice of Islam.

As the Center develops, we intend to expand our educational programming to include Qur’an instruction, programs for new Muslims, family-oriented classes, youth education and mentorship, seminars, workshops, and other beneficial educational activities.

Serving Cambridge and the Surrounding Community

The Talha ibn Ubaidillah Center seeks to serve not only as a place of worship and learning, but also as a source of benefit to the community.

Among the community initiatives we are working to develop are a food distribution program to assist individuals and families experiencing food insecurity and a community garden that can provide fresh produce while encouraging cooperation and service.

Future community initiatives may also include youth activities, volunteer opportunities, family programs, seasonal assistance, community service projects, and other programs developed according to the needs of Cambridge and the surrounding area.

Our goal is to develop the Talha ibn Ubaidillah Center into a stable and beneficial Islamic institution where Allah is worshipped, beneficial knowledge is taught, Muslims are strengthened in their religion, bonds of brotherhood are cultivated, and service is extended to those in need.
